We all have a unique style of decorating - so there is something for everyone during this week long holiday home tour!
If you are joining me from Abby's home from Just A Girl And Her Blog, I'm absolutely thrilled to have you stop by! If you have been following along for a while and you are coming back for more-I appreciate you being here as well! My home tour this year is literally brimming with classic modern holiday goodness that I am so excited to share with you. I've come up with some new themes and color schemes - so without further ado, grab a cup of hot cocoa, tea or coffee and let's jump right into it!
As you enter my home, the very first thing to greet you is my great room tree. I went with a nordic inspired theme this year and decorated this tree with red, silver and white. Last year, I created some DIY nordic ornaments which you can find here and these ornaments were the inspiration behind this tree!
I wanted a classic Christmas look. I decorated this tree with red and silver ribbon, an assortment of red, silver and white ornaments, flocked picks and red berries. My favorite ornaments of all have to be the crystal snowflakes that I interspersed throughout the tree. The tree in this room is from King of Christmas and is 9 feet tall and I love how the lights look like tiny dancing fireflies!
My favorite part of holiday decorating is creating mini vignettes throughout my home. Adding pretty packages and mini trees below and around the tree are great ways to bring a festive touch. To create visual interest, I use a variety of wrapping paper and ribbon. Using various prints, textures and colors can finish off the tree in a beautiful way.
Styling my great room shelves is something I look forward to each year. This year I added reindeer, gift boxes and mini trees for a fresh new look. I shared a more detailed blog post on these shelves which you can find here.
As we leave my great room and head over into the dining room, I want to leave you with a look back.
This year for my dining room holiday decor, I decided to try something different. Years ago, I had seen an image in a catalogue where trees of different heights, shapes and sizes were grouped together which created a stunning look. In attempt to recreate this look, I took several of my twinkle light and ever green mini trees and grouped them into the corner of my dining room. I guess you could call this a mini modern tree farm!
I really love how whimsical these trees look together.
I extended the tree farm into my dining room as a centerpiece and again, I love the collection of trees. I love it so much that I might have to find a way to bring this look back, year after year!
Before we end this tour, I have one last space that I would love to share with you - my daughter's nursery! Let's head on upstairs.
The theme in my daughter's nursery was candy land! Im so happy with how the tree turned out this year. I let my imagination run wild with this one, as I added pink striped and silver ribbon, candy canes, popsicles, icre cream cones, cotton candy and cupcake ornaments.
The perfect complement to the this tree was adding the garland above the curtain rod and finishing the tree skirt with Christmas houses, nutcrackers and bottle brush trees.
Here's a closer look at some of the whimsical ornaments.
