Hello friends! Happy holiday season and welcome to my modern bright holiday home tour! As always, I am partaking in a holiday home tour with some of my favorite blogger friends. This year’s tour runs over a full week and are filled with incredible holiday inspiration that will be sure to leave you with some amazing décor ideas. Be sure to scroll down to the very bottom to check out all the participants. We all have unique styles of decorating – so there is definitely some inspiration for everyone!
If you joined me last year, you know that I incorporated some fun color into my holiday décor and this year is no different. Instead of all the colors, I chose to stick with blues and plums. I was inspired by a wedding that I came across on Pinterest and that is how the theme for this year’s modern bright holiday evolved! I have used blues and plums in my holiday décor in the past, just not together. So, it was fairly easy to decorate my home with things I already had on hand, plus a few additions (because I just cannot resist buying holiday décor!).
If you joining me from Pasha's home – WELCOME! So happy you are here. I absolutely love her take on Christmas! We will start our tour with my entryway looking into my great room.
This year, I am NOT saving the best for last! As soon as you walk in the door you are greeted by my 12 foot Christmas tree filled to the brim with ribbon, picks and ornaments! On my console table, I filled a vase with champagne and gold magnolia branches, plum picks and a beloved peony flower. Next to this vase I have a grouping of brass deer that I bring out year after year.
The florals in this vase are repeated in my tree and my banister décor – I tried to keep the color scheme as consistent as possible.
As we look back into my study, you will see my beloved travel gallery adorned with a few wreaths. Again some burgundy ribbon on three darling wreaths spruced up this space for the holidays. In the past, I have left these frames alone, but this year I decided to jump in and decorate this room – and I’m so glad I did!
As a last minute decision, I decided to decorate my banister. In the last few years, I had left my banister bare (usually because I ran out of time), but this year, I was inspired by the two tone ribbon and these beautiful paper ornaments I picked up from a local gift shop. The rich burgundy and blue tones just have my heart!
As we walk into my great room, you can see similar décor items on my shelves. I repeated the mini wreaths from my study in my great room and decided to hang it from a shelf. Doesn’t it just look darling?
The iridescent glass trees are a new addition this year. I absolutely love the glow and how they look ice blue in this room. My favorite reindeer also made an appearance this year – I bring them out every year and love sprinkling them around different areas of my home!
The shelves near my Christmas tree rarely get swtiched out. This year, I added an oversized vase with large glittery stems to coordinate with my Christmas colors. Of course, I pulled out my handsome white reindeer and added a bow on everything!
Now let’s turn out attention to the main attraction – my great room Christmas tree! This year I went for a modern bright look with blues, plums, burgundy and light pink and I could not be more happy with how this turned out!
And here are some close up views to show you the details. This tree is just brimming with flocked branches, picks, five different styles of ribbon and so many ornaments.
Nothing screams holiday quite like a freshly lit Balsam Fir candle and a bowl of ornaments - am I right? I finished off the tree with a few gift boxes wrapped in coordinated ribbon and a few burgundy ornaments to match my banister.
For a coordinated look, I styled my mantel with similar ribbon and picks and finished off the look with some cascading ornaments and twinkle lights.
Here is one look back at my great room before we make our way into my dining room.
Welcome to Christmas in my dining room! While I really love the pops of color in my great room, my dining room is filled with the classic red, white and silver for Christmas.
Last year I added this whimsical Nordic spruce tree to my collection and I think it looks perfect here in my dining room. I love the sparse and down swept branches.
This year I added white and red ribbon, glossy and matte red berry picks and decided to drape the tree with ribbon tails – what do you think? This is a totally new look for me - but I have to say I love the way the ribbon just cascades down the tree!
Another new look for this holiday season was adding greenery around my dining room windows. It was such a challenge to get the greenery hung this year, but was well worth the effort! I love how it anchors the dining room and also complements my Christmas tree!
As a special moment I added a few white birds in the greenery and Christmas tree. I just love how whimsical they look!
I finished off my dining table with a simple arrangement of white and green pears and mercury glass candles.
We are nearing the end of my modern bright holiday home tour. To finish off, I will share my butlers pantry that is on the other side of my dining room. This year, I went all out decorating it with an assortment of holiday houses, nutcrackers and bottle brush trees.
I never met a bottle brush tree I didn't like and I have been building my collection over the years. It really brings me so much joy to see them all arranged like this!
