Guest Bedroom and Bathroom One Room Challenge: Week 7

Hello friends …. It’s officially week 7 of the one room challenge guest bedroom and bathroom makeover. This means that we ONLY have one week left …. can you believe it? It’s really crunch time because I have sooooo many things left to do!

If you missed the previous weeks and want to catch up here they are:

Week 1 / Week 2 / Week 3 / Week 4 / Week 5/ Week 6

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you know I have participated in many one room challenges before. And my favorite thing to do a week before the reveal is to share all the accessories that are going into that room. It gives you all a preview of what to expect - but you still need to wait to see it all come together in the final space.

Before I do that, I want to share a quick little peek at the accent wall. I’m only about 20% of the way there (yikes!) but I am LOVING how it looks! Here’s a little snippet:

Now let me show you all the fun stuff that’s going into the guest bedroom and bathroom!

The Rugs

When picking rugs for the guest bedroom and bathroom, I wanted them to coordinate but not exactly match. I also wanted rugs with contrast but still minimal in aesthetic. I fell in LOVE with the Alice Collection from Loloi Rugs (The Chris Loves Julia Collection) as soon as I laid eyes on the rugs. They are modern, plush and minimal - so perfect for this guest bedroom and bath.

The Lighting

Lighting can make all the difference in a room - would you agree? For the guest bedroom, I didn't have any wiring in the walls for sconces to flank either side of the bed, so I opted for modern oversized table lamps from Hudson Valley Lighting. This large glass table lamp is called the Hague and the base closely resembles a prism. It reflects the light beautifully in all directions and is a total showstopper! In the bathroom, I chose the Buckley light fixture. It is sleek chrome and glass above the mirror light fixture. My goal here was to make impact with oversized fixtures while maintaining clean lines.

The Faucet

Something that I have been very hush hush about is the faucet that is going in the guest bathroom. I really wanted to keep it a surprise, BUT, I'm so excited about the bold shape that I had to share. The faucet is from Axor Hansgrohe and it is a total stunner! I have yet to install this beautiful piece and I can't wait to see it in the final space.

I hope you are as excited as I am about my Guest Bedroom & Bathroom makeover! Check me out on Instagram under the handle @thisissimplicite. Better yet, subscribe to my site and the updates will just land in your inbox. Meet me back here next week for the reveal!
